5 Ways to Improve Your Morning Bicycle Commute

Commuting by bicycle is one of my favorite parts of my weekly routine. The fresh air is good for both my physical and mental health, not to mention the health of Planet Earth!

I’ve found bike commuting even more enjoyable during the pandemic, when taking public transportation is certainly less desirable than it once was.

My current commute is 7 miles each way - the perfect amount of time to enjoy a good podcast and get a bit of exercise in before the workday begins. On my ride home, I like to stash away my headphones and enjoy the silence to unwind from my day. By the time I arrive home, I’ve decompressed and am more ready to be fully present with my partner and my home life.

Some folks can find bike commuting intimidating, but with the right gear, proper planning, and a positive mindset, bicycle commuting is a fun and healthy alternative to driving to work or taking public transportation.
